Frequently Asked Questions
What is the rule for a leap year?
A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4. However, if the year is divisible by 100, it is NOT a leap year, unless it is also divisible by 400.
Why do we have leap years?
Earth takes approximately 365.2422 days to orbit the sun. To keep our calendar aligned with the astronomical seasons, we add an extra day (February 29) almost every four years.
When is the next leap year?
Leap years generally happen every 4 years. Recent and upcoming leap years include 2020, 2024, 2028, and 2032.
