Frequently Asked Questions
How is an IVF due date calculated?
Unlike standard due date calculators that rely on the last menstrual period, an IVF due date is calculated using the exact date of embryo transfer and the age of the embryo (typically 3 days or 5 days old at transfer) for maximum accuracy.
What is the difference between a 3-day and 5-day transfer?
A 3-day transfer means the embryo was transferred to the uterus 3 days after fertilization. A 5-day transfer (blastocyst) means the embryo grew for 5 days in the lab before transfer. The calculator subtracts this age from the standard 266-day gestation period.
